# Understand Strategies

Cushion vaults provide a simple, passive way to gain exposure to market performance with a known risk. Each vault accepts deposits in only one token, according to the underlying strategies, and allocates it to a specific and defined basket of assets. Risk exposure is fully transparent and announced at the vault launch, and asset management can be followed by users directly on the Cushion website. With this solution, users only need to deposit to gain exposure to a strategy.

Each vault is managed directly by Cushion and built on underlying protocols like Drift and Jupiter. Cushion vaults are designed for users who want exposure to asset performance and are subject to evolve with market dynamics.

It's important to note that performance and yield solutions are two different types of products:

* A performance solution offers exposure to volatile assets and can follow their price action on both the upside and downside. The main goal of this strategy is to better manage each trend to outperform the underlying asset over a long time frame.
* A yield solution is generally built with one main goal: maintaining a secure asset deposit that can grow through yield generated from DeFi activities (such as lending, arbitrage, funding rates, etc.).
* Some mixed products also exist, offering exposure to a token's performance with the added benefit of yield, all while managing risk.
